DJ C’s M.I.A. / Paper Planes Mix
-
I first heard of DJ C from an M.I.A. remix. Her single URAQT was one of the vinyl 7 inch releases from XL recordings. This was back when she was making the jump from the U.K., and it so happens that
DJ C was chosen to produce the B-Side.
Fast forward three years… thankfully… M.I.A. is one of the hottest chicks in the game. Required listening for my daughter, who is half Indian (the other half being cynical Panamanian immigrant). I have always appreciated M.I.A.’s cryptic references to worldwide corruption, while maintaining an upbeat party atmosphere…
… at least that’s what I get from it…
… veerrryyy careful these days critiquing artists and sh**…
… not TRYING to get my damn chain snatched by ANYONE.lol…
Anyway, DJ C’s mix is a collection of some of the maaaaaannnnnyyyyy Paper Planes remixes to come out recently.. The song itself mixes elements of Teddy Riley’s Wreckx N Effex, The Clash, Pharrell Williams and probably lots of sh** that will fly over my head (no pun intended).
Interestingly enough tho.. I think T.I. and 50 Cent …put heen di bumboclaath wukk pon di verse…. (rewind)
Proper verses also from Afrikan Boy, Bun B, Kanye (remix track), Jay Z, Jim Jones, Tego Calderon, Li’l Wayne, etc. etc. etc. e.t.c….. niceness pon di mix.
CATCH UP, SUBURBIA….!
Please See Post Here: from LAST YEAR…, where Producer Diplo said he’s pretty much DONE discussing Paper Planes/// http://maddecent.com/blog/2007/10/23/last-paper-planes-post-ever/
A good song needs to be in a movie before you DRONES decide you can like it?
